Dua Lipa and Jimmy Fallon put their own twist on the Christmas class from Love Actually

Dua Lipa and Jimmy Fallon helped The Tonight Show viewers get in the holiday spirit on Thursday night. The pair teamed up for a duet of “Christmas Is All Around” from the 2003 classic Love Actually.

For millions of people, Love Actually is a staple of the Christmas season. The romantic comedy was released to mixed reviews but has taken off since then and continues to find a bigger and bigger audience each year.

The Tonight Show also has a few holiday traditions of its own. Without a studio audience, the annual Christmas sweater countdown is on hiatus. But that hasn’t stopped Jimmy Fallon from celebrating in whatever way he can.

On Thursday, that meant turning to Dua Lipa for help. The Grammy-winning singer was in the building ahead of her appearance on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night. So with her help, Fallon put out this cover of “Christmas Is All Around” from Love Actually.

The cue card scene between Andrew Lincoln and Keira Knightley is the most famous from Love Actually so it’s only right that it finds its way into this video. Late night fans have already seen a parody of it earlier this month thanks to Jimmy Kimmel.

Here, Dua Lipa and Jimmy Fallon don’t play it for laughs. Instead, it’s a crowd-pleasing rendition of the song with scenes of the two outside 30 Rock in the snow. Fans were especially impressed with Fallon’s singing voice as he held his own opposite the talented Lipa.

Dua Lipa’s year in late night television set to end on a high note

Late night television fans have seen a lot of Dua Lipa this year. The release of her album Future Nostalgia back in March sent the singer out on a promotion tour that often crossed over into late night.

In March, Lipa performed as part of the “Homefest” charity concert even organized by The Late Late Show with James Corden. She was the musical guest on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon in in April. Over the summer, she stepped in as guest host of Jimmy Kimmel Live! and did an impressive job.

Now Dua Lipa has added a Christmas music video on The Tonight Show to her 2020 late night list of accomplishments. But the biggest night is still to come as she serves as the musical guest on Saturday Night Live tomorrow night.
