Late night reacts to Biden’s plan to disinfect the White House after Trump

Jimmy Fallon and James Corden joked about Joe Biden’s plan to disinfect the White House before moving in
Pandemic or not, it’s always a good idea to do a deep clean before moving into a new place. That was the advice late night TV hosts Jimmy Fallon and James Corden gave President-elect Joe Biden as he prepares to take over the White House from President Donald Trump.
Publicly, President Trump is acting as if he’ll be at 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue for the next four years. Privately, however, he appears to be acknowledging that his time in the White House is up and he’ll be moving back to Florida next month.
According to reports, President-elect Biden is already preparing for his move to Washington, D.C. A thorough cleaning and disinfection of the White House are on deck before Joe Biden and his staff plan to move into the White House.
Of course, this news provided the perfect material for late night TV hosts. Here are the jokes from Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show and James Corden on The Late Late Show.
Jimmy Fallon had late night’s best jokes about what President Trump has done to the White House
Jimmy Fallon isn’t surprised to hear Biden’s team wants to disinfect the White House. The Tonight Show host would have suggested that even if there wasn’t a pandemic going on. And President Trump has made it very clear that the building did little to prevent the spread of COVID-19 among those working there.
Fallon imagines that officials will find half-eaten cheeseburgers and more laying around the White House. The comedian joked that Biden would be better off staying in a hotel or even a bowling show until the deep clean is done.
Late night’s James Corden also preached caution when it came to White House cleanliness
Over on The Late Late Show, James Corden had a similar message for President-elect Joe Biden. Like Fallon, Corden would have disinfected everything after President Trump no matter what public health crisis was going on.
Corden used the story as a jumping off point to discuss his own standards for cleaning. He was backed up by band leader Reggie Watts, proving that both men would be doing the same as Biden’s team at the White House.
The Late Late Show also imagined that Biden would name the Scrubbing Bubbles mascot to a cabinet administration to further ensure everything was clean. And once again, Corden used the joke to launch into an aside on how unfamiliar he was with the mascot.
