Is The Late Show with Stephen Colbert new tonight, October 19?
By Matt Moore
What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?
Last week wasn’t an easy one for late-night television fans. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert took the week off only to see a number of stories dominate the news and go without a response from Stephen Colbert.
Thankfully, that changes tonight. There will be a brand new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and the timing couldn’t be better.
We are just over two weeks out from the election. President Donald Trump and Vice President Joe Biden are gearing up for a third and final debate on Thursday. President Trump continues to hold rallies around the country. The pandemic is spiking in many states. And to top it all off, Rudy Giuliani is running around possibly spreading Russian disinformation.
These types of stories are easier to digest when they are accompanied by Stephen Colbert’s monologues and guest interviews. Expect tonight’s show to set the tone for the week.
First, Colbert will interview Joy Reid. She currently hosts The ReidOut on MSNBC. Reid could discuss President Trump’s town hall and also provide insight on what the polls tell us about the election.
Then, actor Yayha Abdul-Mateen II joins the show. Fans know him from roles in Aquaman and Watchmen. Now they can see him in The Trial of the Chicago 7 directed by Aaron Sorkin on Netflix.
