What should The Late Show with Stephen Colbert fans expect to see tonight on CBS?

Time is running out on this week and with it, the chances of seeing a new episode of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert? So what’s on tap tonight on CBS?

Through breaking news after breaking news, Stephen Colbert has been absent this week. The late-night leader has been unable to weigh in on President Donald Trump’s rallies, the Supreme Court Justice hearings, or the election that is just weeks away at this point.

But Colbert hasn’t exactly lost any ground to his competitors. Only Jimmy Kimmel Live! has been airing new shows this week among the network shows.

Last night, there are dueling town halls on NBC and ABC as President Trump and former Vice President Joe Biden both found alternatives to the second debate. Debate nights are usually when The Late Show comes through with a live show after all the fireworks but once again there was no Colbert.

Just like that second presidential debate, there will not be a new Late Show tonight. Stephen Colbert and his team are off once again.

Instead, CBS will reair the Oct. 8 episode. Fans can revisit Colbert’s interview with Mindy Kaling as the actress shares some major personal news. That is followed by a conversation with former CIA Director John Brennan.

It is undoubtedly a disappointment for Colbert’s fans who were holding out hope of seeing him at least once this week. But The Late Show has big plans for next week as we head into the final stretch of Oct., so stay tuned.
