There have been some noticeable absences on late-night television this week. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon is among those that have yet to make an appearance.

The Late Show, Late Night, and Conan are some of the other shows that have been off to start the week. Jimmy Fallon and company are also in that group after a string of impressive shows back at 30 Rock.

The Tonight Show set the template for returning to the studio during the pandemic. It was followed by Late Night with Seth Meyers and then Saturday Night Live. Fans are hoping it won’t be long before they see Fallon back in that studio telling jokes and talking with the biggest stars in entertainment.

Sadly, that wait won’t be ending tonight. There will not be a new episode of The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon.

Instead, NBC will reair the show from Sept. 28. Fans can revisit Fallon’s interviews with actor Jim Parsons and journalist Shepard Smith. A performance by BTS closes out the show.

Fans can be sure that Fallon and his writers will make up for lost time when the show does return with new episodes. Given the busy fall season for TV series and of course the election, there will be plenty to discuss.
