Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue recapped another busy start to President Donald Trump’s week

President Donald Trump is continuing to make moves across the country as part of his election bids. Those moves include dancing to the “YMCA” and once again moving against Dr. Anthony Fauci–two mistakes he continues to make, says Jimmy Kimmel.

President Trump has declared himself immune to COVID-19 and therefore free to hold rallies with his supporters. He has already traveled to Florida and Pennsylvania with plans to hit Nevada along with other stops before the election.

Meanwhile, the pandemic continues in the U.S. with experts warning of a new surge on the way. Infectious disease expert Dr. Anthony Fauci recently stated that regardless of the election outcome, he wants to stay on to combat the novel coronavirus.

Still, that hasn’t prevented Dr. Fauci from being dragged into the election. The Trump campaign has used a clip of Dr. Fauci out of context in a television advertisement. Dr. Fauci has criticized the ad and called for it to be taken down. This has only further strained the relationship between the doctor and Team Trump.

Both these stories made for good material in Jimmy Kimmel’s monologue on Tuesday night. The ABC host had some fun with President Trump’s dance moves before offering the campaign a new ad featuring Dr. Fauci:

Jimmy Kimmel can’t understand the strategy behind Trump’s YMCA love or Fauci feuds

For years, late-night hosts like Jimmy Kimmel have been trying to understand the logic or reasoning behind Donald Trump’s decision making. While it has sometimes been easy, with the president’s motivations being very transparent, other choices have left Kimmel scratching his head.

The president’s apparent love for “YMCA” is one of them. Kimmel is certain that President Trump has no clue what the song is about or who the Village People are. But with so many other bands refusing to let the Trump campaign play their songs, “YMCA” may be the only option left at this point so it’s on repeat at every Trump rally.

Kimmel also thinks that President Trump’s only option on defending his pandemic response is to distort reality. That’s why his campaign is running ads featuring Dr. Fauci talking about medical personnel and framing it as praise for President Trump.

Everyone is aware of the frayed relationship between President Trump and Dr. Fauci. The White House has repeatedly contradicted medical experts during the pandemic, leaving Dr. Fauci to fend off attacks while trying to keep the public informed. It’s not too hard to imagine an ad like the one Jimmy Kimmel Live! cut together hitting the airwaves soon.

For Kimmel, it’s another example of desperation setting in for Team Trump. The writing seems to be on the wall that Joe Biden will cruise to victory. Let’s just hope he has a better victory dance than the YMCA.
