Jimmy Kimmel’s Bachelorette prediction is the easiest one yet

Jimmy Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney revealed their pick for this season of The Bachelorette

The Bachelorette kicked off its 16th season last night on ABC. Former Bachelor contestant Clare Crawley is the one looking for love this time around…at least for now. And no season of The Bachelorette would be complete without a prediction from Jimmy Kimmel–or more accurately, his wife Molly McNearney.

Kimmel has been sharing McNearney’s Bachelor and Bachelorette predictions on Jimmy Kimmel Live! for years. McNearney has put together an impressive streak especially considering her picks aren’t based on any inside info.

But leaks from the set of The Bachelorette season 16 have complicated things. In reality, they’ve made things a little easier and taken some of the fun out of the Kimmel tradition.

Still, McNearney checked in to Jimmy Kimmel Live! from the couple’s home to offer her prediction on how season 16 will play out. Her husband was a little less interested in reality TV and more interested in sharing some personal details:

If you know how this season plays out or could tell by the tease at the end of last night’s premiere, then you know there wasn’t much of a mystery for Molly McNearney to uncover. She did sound a little disappointed that she wasn’t able to offer a legitimate prediction and instead referred to the rest of the contestants as “sloppy seconds.”

With that, McNearney turned her attention to the mystery of Jimmy Kimmel’s belongings. Some questionable shirts, retainers, and toy sharks all get called out. But it may have backfired on McNearney as Kimmel took the opportunity to give America some insight into the couple’s love life.

For anyone looking for a slightly more serious Bachelorette coverage, Jimmy Kimmel proved that later in the show. He connected with Clare Crawley to discuss the season 16 premiere, filming during the pandemic, meeting Dale, and whether or not she left the show early.

Crawley’s answer on that last issue appeared to take Kimmel by surprise. He pressed the Bachelorette contestant a bit more but she wasn’t exactly giving up the game for the late-night host.

It was just enough of a tease to keep Bachelorette fans guessing just when they thought they knew what was going to happen. Kimmel and McNearney may have to revise their predictions, too.
