The Late Show with Stephen Colbert will air episodes featuring other late-night hosts
The Late Show with Stephen Colbert may be on the top of the late-night television world but it will be putting the spotlight elsewhere this week. Starting tonight, fans will be treated toe episodes featuring Colbert’s interviews with his fellow late-night hosts.
Late-night fans will notice that the options for new episodes this week will be very limited. The Late Show with Stephen Colbert is among those fitting in one final summer vacation as August turns to September and the fall television season gets underway.
Perhaps knowing that, The Late Show will reair five episodes that put some of the most popular late-night hosts in one spot. It should also give audiences a nice little break after two weeks of convention coverage from Colbert.
Seeing all these late-night hosts sit down with the current ratings champion is another reminder of where late-night television is today. Long gone are the days of late-night wars where hosts publicly disliked each other and audiences were split. It’s clear that there is room for everyone and everyone is happy to do their own thing while allowing their late-night colleagues to do the same.
Here’s this week’s Late Show with Stephen Colbert schedule
Things start tonight when CBS reairs the April 7 episode featuring Conan O’Brien. O’Brien and Colbert have a long history of collaborating together and their chemistry shines through in the interview fans see tonight.
On Tuesday, Sept. 1, The Late Show puts the spotlight on the man who kickstarted Colbert’s late-night career. Fans can revisit the June 24 show with former Daily Show host Jon Stewart.
It’s all about CBS on Wednesday, Sept. 2. Colbert’s late-night partner James Corden is featured as the Late Late Show host’s visit from June 22 gets replayed.
Thursday, Sept. 3 features the current Daily Show host. Trevor Noah, who recently gave an insightful interview about the changes he’s made to the show, will be interviewed by Colbert from the April 20 show.
The week closes out on Friday, Sept. 4 with John Oliver. The Last Week Tonight host’s visit from March 30 wraps up The Late Show‘s salute to late-night television. This interview came during the start of the pandemic so it will be interesting to revisit it knowing where we are five months later.
