Team Coco and Conan O’Brien’s podcast empire expands with a brand new show

Conan O’Brien and his company Team Coco have carved out a large chunk of the comedy podcast world for themselves. It will get a little bigger this week with the release of a brand new show.

“Dads the Podcast” hosted by comedian Rory Scovel will go live on Wednesday, Sept. 2. It will feature celebrity interviews as Scovel and his guests discuss the ups and downs of fatherhood as well as the important role of father figures.

Team Coco recently released a trailer for the podcast which makes a point to say that even non-dads are encouraged to listen. Having a trusted comedy brand like Team Coco and the association with Conan O’Brien would already ensure that those without kids would tune in.

Speaking of O’Brien, he’s featured in the trailer meaning he’ll be on one of the early episodes of “Dads the Podcast.” You can watch the trailer right here to hear a few other familiar voices:

With “Dads the Podcast,” Team Coco gives an even bigger platform to one of its favorite comedians. Rory Scovel has made multiple appearances on Conan, has been featured in Team Coco’s comedy tours, and is likely on the list to have his own HBO Max special produced by Conan O’Brien.

The podcast will be co-hosted by Ruthie Wyatt. She works on the digital side of things for Team Coco. Given the company’s history of turning behind-the-scenes employees into stars (Sona Movsesian, Jordan Schlansky, Aaron Bleyaert, for example) fans can be confident that Wyatt will be a strong addition to the show.

“Dads” stands out among the other podcast options from Team Coco in that goes beyond just a celebrity interview format. With a very specific focus, the show could be a little more structured than just a free-wheeling discussion on the guest’s career.

After recently becoming a father myself, I’ll definitely be listening. It will be interesting to see how the Team Coco/Conan O’Brien brand of humor influences the show and conversations around fatherhood.

Dads the Podcast joins a growing list of podcasts from Team Coco

The ability for Team Coco to expand its podcast empire is all thanks to the massive success of “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.” It has become a powerhouse in the podcast world and recently kicked off season three.

“Dads the Podcast” becomes the ninth podcast advertised as part of Team Coco’s network. Others include “Three Questions with Andy Richter,” “Inside Conan,” and the recently launched “Literally! with Rob Lowe.”

If asked a few years ago to pick the late-night host that would have an expansive podcast network by now, not many people would pick Conan O’Brien. But then again, the late-night host has been defying expectations and surprising people his entire career.
