The Tonight Show welcomes three guests with Saturday Night Live connections

The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon will be where Saturday Night Live fans can turn to night after night this week. Three guests have connections to SNL.

First up is current cast member Cecily Strong. She will check in with Jimmy Fallon on Tuesday, Aug. 11.

Strong is coming off another excellent season and one that earned her her first Emmy nomination. The recognition is long overdue as Strong has established herself as one of, if not the, most important cast members at SNL right now. Expect Fallon to see how Strong is enjoying her summer, ask her to reflect on how season 45 ended, and what her plans are for the future.

Next, The Tonight Show will welcome Paula Pell. Pell was a writer at Saturday Night Live from 1995 to 2003 and is probably responsible for some of your favorite characters like Debbie Downer or the Spartan cheerleaders. On-screen, you’ve seen Pell in 30 RockParks and RecDocumentary Now!, and A.P. Bio.

Pell will join Fallon to talk about her new series Mapleworth Murders coming to Quibi. The series boasts Lorne Michaels and Seth Meyers as executive producers as well as a cast that includes John Lutz, J.B. Smoove, and Hayley Magnus. A number of SNL alumni are listed as recurring or guest actors such as Fred Armisen, Andy Samberg, Maya Rudolph, and Tina Fey.

Last but not least, Seth Meyers comes to The Tonight Show. You can catch him on Thursday, Aug. 13.

Like Fallon, Meyers has been making the most of running a late-night show during the pandemic. The Tonight Show has returned to 30 Rock while Late Night with Seth Meyershas continued from Meyers’s house and his in-law’s house, introducing his new sidekick the Sea Captain.

Meyers may want to plug Mapleworth Murders as well. He could also provide an update on the future of Late Night and when it plans to return to a studio.
