Hear Jimmy Kimmel’s theory on why President Trump is taking hydroxychloroquine
By Matt Moore
Jimmy Kimmel reacted to the news that President Donald Trump is taking hydroxychloroquine to prevent the novel coronavirus.
Medical experts and health officials have outlined a number of different measures that can be used to prevent contracting COVID-19. President Donald Trump is following his own set of rules that apparently includes taking the antimalarial drug hydroxychloroquine. Why? Jimmy Kimmel has his own theory.
President Trump had been promoting hydroxychloroquine as a way to prevent the novel coronavirus for weeks. Medical professionals warned that the drug was not approved for such use or could be considered an effective treatment. Yet that didn’t deter the president who recently revealed that he has been taking the drug for the past two weeks.
For many, it was one thing for the president to promote hydroxychloroquine but it is another issue entirely that he is taking it. It’s difficult to understand why he won’t wear a mask or adhere to social distancing recommendations but relies on a drug with potentially harmful side effects.
During his Tuesday monologue, Jimmy Kimmel recapped some of those side effects. The comedian also revealed his theory on why President Trump is taking hydroxychloroquine.
President Trump has been very critical of the press for acting hostile towards him. But that “hostility” would be nothing compared to reporters following Kimmel’s line of questioning. The president should be thankful that no one at his next press briefing will be asking about diarrhea no matter how badly Kimmel wants to see it happen.
This brings Kimmel to his very morbid theory on why the president would be treating himself with hydroxychloroquine. Few people believed that Donald Trump actually wanted to be president. Kimmel is convinced of that now more than ever and jokes that there is only one way out for the president.
When Kimmel lists off President Trump’s questionable actions and poor decisions, it’s hard to argue with the idea that he wants out of the Oval Office. No matter how hard he tries, President Trump has yet to be fired or removed so Kimmel says he’s taking matters into his own hands.
Jimmy Kimmel’s theory is a little darker in its humor than we’ve seen from the comedian recently. But the last few months have shown that apparently no ideas are too crazy and there is no such thing as “normal.”
