BTS was the standout in The Late Late Show with James Corden’s HomeFest concert event.

As much of the world stay apart to combat the novel coronavirus, The Late Late Show created a way to bring people together. Monday night’s HomeFest concert event featured performances from some of the most popular acts in music including perhaps the most popular, BTS.

Late night television shows have been coming up with creative solutions to deliver content while in isolation. The networks are on board this week, airing at-home editions of shows like ConanThe Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

The Late Late Show with James Corden doesn’t have any plans to follow that model. But that didn’t mean that Corden and company wanted to leave fans in the dark. So instead, the most musical late night show put together HomeFest featuring fan-favorite acts performing from home.

Chances are that when booking the show, the first call went out to BTS. Featuring the band is a surefire way to get extra attention and ensure that coverage spread far and wide on social media thanks to band’s dedicated and engaging fanbase. It also helps that James Corden has a fantastic relationship with BTS as evident by “Carpool Karaoke” and other Late Late Show appearances.

Corden checked in with the boy band from South Korea where they delivered a message of encouragement to fans and the rest of the world. Echoing the goal of HomeFest, the band noted how people can remain connected despite being physically apart.

So, after boosting everyone’s mood and reaching out to fans, it was time for BTS to do what they do best: perform. The band performed their hit song “Boy with Luv,” proving that it would take much more than quarantine to stop BTS from putting on a show for fans.

The over 400,000 views the performance has earned on YouTube as of this post makes it far and away the most popular performance from HomeFest. That shouldn’t surprise anyone and certainly didn’t surprise The Late Late Show. The program, along with the rest of late night, has come to fully realize that BTS brings in ratings unlike any other artist. And when the band can deliver a positive message and keep fans smiling regardless of the circumstances, it’s a win-win.
