Bill Burr is surviving quarantine better than expected
By Matt Moore
Jimmy Kimmel checked in with Bill Burr to see how the comedian is handling life in isolation.
We have come to another week where self-isolating, social distancing, and quarantining are the norm as the world tries to stop the spread of the novel coronavirus. Some are adjusting better than others and it may be a surprise to some to hear that comedian Bill Burr is in that category.
Burr has not been afraid to admit he has a temper and a short fuse, even if he has mellowed out slightly over the last few years. But watch his stand-up specials or listen to “The Monday Morning Podcast” and you’ll see how quickly the comedian can get irritated with everything from day-to-day life to Illuminati conspiracies.
It has also been an adjustment for Jimmy Kimmel. The late night talk show host has been trying to deliver content to his fans while confined to his home. Kimmel has managed to put together daily “minilogues” as well as interview celebrities remotely all while raising money for charities.
Burr seems like the perfect guest to have on in a situation like this one, so Kimmel tracked down the stand-up in his neighborhood for a drive-by interview. What we found out is that Burr is staying calm, cool, and collected through the pandemic and, perhaps more shockingly, the departure of Tom Brady.
Burr has long been one of the best guests in late night no matter what’s going on in the world. His ranting and raving on Conan are fan-favorite segments and are always must-watch. Fans probably expected a similar performance from Burr on Jimmy Kimmel Live! but instead it sounds as if Burr is enjoying his time at home.
After all, it means that he doesn’t have to deal with the airport in Los Angeles and he has found a way to avoid grocery stores. It gives him more time to spend with his family and concoct the “Tom Brady to the Buccanneers was a distraction” theory.
How are you handling social distancing compared to Bill Burr? Let us know in the comment section and be sure to check out “The Monday Morning Podcast” for more from Burr.
