Stephen Colbert reacted to reports that President Donald Trump has not taken any precautions to prevent contracting coronavirus.

Stephen Colbert continued to question the White House’s competency amid the outbreak of novel coronavirus. In calling for stronger leadership, the Late Show host wondered why President Donald Trump can’t practice what he preaches.

Late night has not been shy about using the public health situation for material. Saturday Night Live tacked novel coronavirus head on in multiple sketches last week. Late Night with Seth Meyers has kept a close eye on President Trump’s response to the outbreak, too.

The Late Show with Stephen Colbert has been no different, challenging President Trump’s abilities as a leader. Whether it is the optics of President Trump playing golf over the weekend or the actual  lack of testing kits available, the CBS late night show has found plenty of reasons to be critical.

It continued on Tuesday night following another press conference from President Trump. In once again trying to downplay the severity of the issue, it was revealed that the president has not been personally tested for COVID-19. That followed news that not every attendee from the CPAC conference, where an individual tested positive for novel coronavirus, has self-quarantined.

It led Colbert to question just how seriously the government is taking the story. Then again, Colbert has never looked to Donald Trump as a shining example of any kind of behavior worth replicating.

President Trump is a well-known germaphobe so there is a high chance he has been tested. However, revealing that to the public would go against his message that the situation is under control or that novel coronavirus will disappear once warmer weather arrives.

In the meantime, Stephen Colbert is keeping an eye out for any symptoms. It’s merely a coincidence that the symptoms he lists are the same ones The Late Show has been pinpointing as proof there is a leadership void coming from Washington, D.C.
