On The Late Late Show, James Corden put Alison Brie on the spot about a potential role in the Marvel universe.

Could Alison Brie be the Alison Brie-type that Disney wants for She-Hulk? Only Alison Brie knows for sure.

The topic of casting She-Hulk for a new Marvel television series took over Twitter recently. That isn’t exactly a surprise considering how passionate the Marvel fanbase has become over the past decade. But what left fans scratching their heads was the report that Disney wanted an “Alison Brie-type” for the role.

The reports led fans to question why Disney didn’t just cast Brie herself in She-Hulk. The show recently announced that Rick and Morty writer Jessica Gao would be the head writer for the upcoming Disney+ series. So if a certain level of comedy will be infused in the show, Brie certainly has the talents to pull it off. Add in the physicality she brings to her role on Netflix’s GLOW and Brie looks like the perfect actress to play Bruce Banner’s cousin.

Brie was on The Late Late Show with James Corden to promote her film Horse Girl. When James Corden asked Brie about her reaction to trending on Twitter, the late night host may have accidently stumbled on a major Marvel revelation:

It’s hard to know for sure if Brie was joking when she admitted she “made some calls” after seeing the reports. Perhaps realizing the secrecy around every Marvel project, she backtracked and told Corden she didn’t know anything about She-Hulk.

Still, the Community actress made it clear that she is interested in the idea. And it wouldn’t be her first collaboration with Marvel, either. Brie is the voice of Black Widow in the mobile game “Marvel Avengers Academy.” So there is a pretty good chance that she knows how to contact Marvel.

If Brie did in fact let it slip that she is in talks to star in She-Hulk, that would only make her a better fit for the role. She would be playing the cousin of the Hulk, played by Mark Ruffalo who has his own history of spilling the beans on the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

And if Alison Brie proves to Disney that she is the Alison Brie-type to play She-Hulk, then fans can look back at Instagram as predicting the future. Back in 2018, Brie was working out with Captain Marvel herself Brie Larson in what could be a sign of things to come.
