Should Saturday Night Live fans expect to see a brand new episode tonight on NBC?

We have come to the end of another week and it was a week severely lacking in the late night television department. Typically, Saturday Night Live comes to the rescue in these circumstances.

The week started off with Presidents’ Day and most late night shows used that holiday to take the entire week off from work. Shows like The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy FallonLate Night with Seth Meyers, and Real Time with Bill Maher were all no where to be found.

Only The Late Late Show with James Corden aired new shows this week. The CBS late night program was dedicated to Justin Bieber as the singer appeared over three consecutive nights.

But late night fans know that Saturday Night Live keeps its own schedule. We have moved into the second half of season 45 but there is still a long way to go before the finale in May. So will SNL return tonight and get back on track? Or will it join the rest of late night in taking the week off?

Sorry, Saturday Night Live fans but Studio 8H will be empty tonight. There is not a new episode for Feb. 22.

Instead, NBC will re-air the Jan 25. episode hosted by actor Adam Drive and featuring Halsey as the musical guest. It’s a good opportunity to revisit Driver’s performance and see why in just three shows, he has become one of the best hosts in modern SNL history.

The show will return on Feb. 29 will old friend John Mulaney as host. The musical guest will be Talking Heads frontman David Byrne. Some may know that Byrne appeared in Mulaney’s recent Netflix special John Mulaney and the Sack Lunch Bunch.
