Bill Maher says it is time for Democrats to stop trying to take the high road and offered advice on how to do it.

2020 will be one of the most important year’s in American history. It has started with the impeachment trial of President Donald Trump and it will conclude with a presidential election. If Democrats want to turn the tide, then the time to start playing dirty is now according to Bill Maher.

Maher has entered the 18th season of his HBO late night show Real Time seemingly on a mission. The comedian wasn’t holding his breath for a miracle in the impeachment trial. Instead, he warned Democrats that President Trump won’t go quietly no matter how he is removed from office. The Real Time host is convinced that there will not be a peaceful transition of power if Donald Trump loses the 2020 election.

Maher offered another warning along with some advice on the last Real Time. His fellow late night hosts have been highly critical of the Republican Party for its support of President Trump and apparent betrayal of their own views and values. But Maher’s advice on how to overcome this is much different that what others have suggested.

Instead of lecturing the GOP or hoping for moral superiority to prevail, Maher is taking a much more realistic approach to the situation. In his “New Rule” segment Maher argued that it is time for Democrats to get down in the mud and play dirty.

It is well-known and fairly obvious that on Real Time, Bill Maher says the things that other late night hosts or political commentators wish they could say. This may be another example of that as Maher advises Democrats to lower their standards down to where Maher believes the Republican Party operates.

Maher criticizes Democrats for being all talk and no action. While some have used the “applause line” of matching the tactics and perspectives of the GOP, nobody has actually come up with concrete examples of what that means. And that is where Maher wants to help.

Will the hero of the Democratic Party be Michael Avenatti? The lawyer who rose to fame for representing Stormy Daniels has all the qualities (and faults) that Maher’s is looking for to match Rudy Giuliani, Lev Parnas, and others who helped the Republican Party become what it is today. Unfortunately, the whole “in prison” thing throws a wrench in that plan.

So Maher takes it upon himself to lay out a plan Democrats can follow to defeat President Trump in the Nov. election. Step one is a campaign ad that takes aim at what many late comedians and others have been saying for some time now.

The next step is to go for a publicity stunt in the debates or in the State of the Union. Maher says it would be easy to drive President Trump crazy by either inviting Story Daniels to the debate or calling out his lies during his address.

Maher is trying to get ahead of the game and warns that deep fakes will be the next tool used to manipulate elections. His version of the infamous and alleged Moscow tape is played for shock and entertainment but there is a sincere warning behind what Maher says.

Bill Maher’s mock campaign ad has already gained traction on social media. The closer we get to November, the more we’ll see if Democrats and opponents of President Donald Trump take more advice from the Real Time host.
