A Closer Look on Late Night with Seth Meyers

There is no denying the role politics, political humor, and satire have played in the recent history of late night television. Yes, late night hosts and shows like Saturday Night Live have always poked fun of presidents. But things have been taken to a new level in the Donald Trump era and Late Night with Seth Meyers is leading the way.

The show’s “A Closer Look” segment is its signature bit and routinely breaks the one million views mark when it hits YouTube. That means that countless late night fans A) have an appetite for political humor and B) Rely on Seth Meyers to deliver it.

“A Closer Look” can be just as informative as it is entertaining. If you’re unable to keep up with the latest scandals and developments from the White House, “A Closer Look” can keep you updated and keep you laughing. Fans should absolutely be thankful that Seth Meyers and company have yet to burn out trying to keep tabs on President Donald Trump, Rudy Giuliani, and others.

Meyers hasn’t made “A Closer Look” or his shots at President Trump the only reason worth tuning into Late Night. Fans should be thankful that Meyers has brought his Saturday Night Live sensibilities to daily late night in the form of sketches and recurring bits that have nothing to do with Washington.

Still, “A Closer Look” has made an enormous impact on the world of late night television. Fans should give Meyers and the Late Night team thanks this year.
