To celebrate Thanksgiving, Last Night On looks at what late night fans should be most thankful for this year.

Happy Thanksgiving, everyone! The holiday is all about getting together with your favorite people and being thankful for what you have and what you have been given. For late night television fans, there is plenty to be thankful for this year.

Thanksgiving offers a nice opportunity to look back at late night in 2019. A number of shows are on breaks for the holiday while others, like Real Time with Bill Maher and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver, have recently ended their seasons.

There is certainly no better time to be a late night fan than right now. There are more shows than ever and each one has a unique voice and sense of humor. Plus, there is plenty of late night content available outside of regular programming thanks to social media, podcasts, and more.

With so many options comes diversity among late night fandom. There are some fans that stick to the late night staples like The Tonight Show and The Late Show. Others are Saturday Night Live historians and still others entered the world of late night thanks to Late Night with Conan O’Brien in the ’90s and early 2000s or thanks to “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” in 2018.

That means that it is impossible to narrow it down to just five things that late night fans should be thankful for. So be sure to let Last Night On know what else you’re thankful for at the end of the list.
