Jimmy Kimmel released the sixth music edition of Mean Tweets and it may be the most vicious one yet.

If Jimmy Kimmel Live! introducing the world to “Mean Tweets” was meant to shame online haters into stopping, then it has failed miserably. No matter how popular any actor, musician, or athlete gets, there will be a tweet trying to bring him or her down. The latest edition of “Mean Tweets” proves that is certainly true for some of the biggest names in music.

This marks the sixth time Jimmy Kimmel has dedicated a “Mean Tweets” segment to music. Other categories have included athletes, specific music genres like rap and country, and Kimmel himself.

The tweets selected by Kimmel and his staff show that nothing is really off limits for anyone willing to insult a celebrity. Criticizing a performer for his or her music is one thing but Kimmel shows that man Twitter trolls are willing to take things a little further and then too far.

Watch as popular stars like Billie Eilish, Lizzo, and Chance the Rapper discover that they may not be as well-liked as they thought. But also pay attention to which musicians aren’t afraid to punch back against the hate.

Chance the Rapper seemed genuinely surprised that there are people out there who don’t like him. He wasn’t any less amused by the tweet directed at him, however. Chance will have to develop a thick skin and appreciate a good joke if he really wants to get his comedy career off the ground.

Green Day drummer Tre Cool may have received one of the best insults fans have seen in recent “Mean Tweets” history. He was called an “emo Ted Cruz” but singer Billie Joe Armstrong was quick to point out that bassist Mike Dirnt looked like Vladimir Putin. Given Jimmy Kimmel’s long history with Ted Cruz, it’s not surprising that a reference to the Texas senator made its way into the segment.
