Kristen Bell and Jimmy Fallon’s Disney song mashup is one of the Tonight Show’s best
By Matt Moore
Kristen Bell joined Jimmy Fallon for a live performance of some iconic Disney songs.
The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon delivered another history lesson on Tuesday night. This time, it was the history of Disney songs. Frozen 2 star Kristen Bell was on hand to help Jimmy Fallon deliver one of the better performances in the Tonight Show‘s mashup history.
Fallon has used his own musical talents along with assistance from Tonight Show guests to look back at some major trends and genres in music. Will Smith helped deliver the history of television theme songs, Jennifer Lopez showed Fallon the history of music video dancing, and Justin Timberlake collaborated with Fallon on the history of rap.
So for the history of Disney songs, Fallon turned to the most popular Disney princess in the world right now: Kristen Bell. Bell has been out promoting Frozen 2, recently having taken over Jimmy Kimmel Live! along with castmates Idina Menzel, Josh Gad, and Jonathan Groff.
Watch as Kimmel and Bell work their way through 17 Disney classics in front of the live Tonight Show audience. Bell especially shines on songs from The Little Mermaid and of course Let It Go.
It’s hard to thing of a more universally beloved category or genre of music than Disney songs. Just about everyone is familiar with most if not all the songs Jimmy Fallon and Kristen Bell included in this mashup. The only reason not to singalong is so that you can hear how talented Bell is during her performance.
The mashup is a nice way to promote Frozen 2 by including the hit Let It Go from the original as well as Into the Unknown from the sequel hitting theaters on Nov. 22. But it also coincided nicely (or intentionally) with the release of the Disney+ streaming service.
If any of these songs brought back a wave of nostalgia, then you can watch Disney classics and more on the brand new service. Those movies and so much more are now available if you need help getting Bear Necessities or You’ve Got a Friend In Me out of your head.
