Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, November 2?
By Matt Moore
Should Saturday Night Live fans expect a brand new episode tonight or is it time for another break?
What better way to recover from Halloween weekend than Saturday Night Live? That will certainly be the plan for the millions of fans who tune in to NBC every Saturday looking for a new episode of SNL.
Last week, Chance the Rapper pulled double duty as both host and musical guest. There were a couple of Halloween-themed sketches mixed in, including Kenan Thompson as a werewolf dance instructor and Chance as a not-so-spooky ghost. Saturday Night Live has still yet to capture the Halloween spirit like they did with David S. Pumpkins but it’s not for a lack of trying.
Chance the Rapper’s episode also came after the first break of season 45. A trio of episodes hosted by Woody Harrelson, Phoebe Waller-Bridge, and David Harbour arrived before Studio 8H shut down for a week.
So what about this week? Was it one-and-done with Chance the Rapper or is Saturday Night Live ready for another stretch of shows?
It’s good news for SNL fans. Yes, there is a brand new episode tonight, Kristen Stewart is the host and Coldplay is your musical guest.
This will be Stewart’s second time hosting the show. The Charlie’s Angels star hosted back in 2017 where she infamously dropped an F-bomb during her monologue. Despite Stewart’s prediction to the contrary, she has been invited back to SNL.
And it’s for good reason that Stewart is back. As you can read in our episode preview, Stewart’s previous hosting gig resulted in some of the most unique and bizarre sketches in recent Saturday Night Live history. There is no reason to believe that won’t continue tonight.
