Bill Murray returned to the life aquatic during a canoe ride in Brooklyn with Jimmy Kimmel.

Chances are, we had you at “Watch Bill Murray.” The legendary comedian remains a must-see performer no matter the movie, television show, or interview. That was proved once again on Jimmy Kimmel Live! where Murray joined Jimmy Kimmel and Guillermo on a leisurely canoe ride in New York City.

Kimmel is wrapping up his annual week of shows at the Brooklyn Academy of Music. The guest lineup this year was one of the best since Jimmy Kimmel Live! began visiting Brooklyn. It featured Bruce Springsteen, Alicia Keys, and Bernie Sanders with John Krasinski and Eddie Murphy still scheduled to appear.

Wednesday night’s show featured fan-favorite Bill Murray. It wasn’t clear if Murray would be sitting down for an interview or if Kimmel had something else planned with the comedy icon.

As it turns out, Murray joined Kimmel for a day out on the water. Watch as the two are joined by Kimmel’s sidekick Guillermo for a canoe ride on Newtown Creek between Queens and Brooklyn.

The setting of the canoe ride isn’t exactly ripped from Wes Anderson’s The Life Aquatic with Steve Zissou. But the beauty of nature can come in many different forms as Murray and Kimmel found out while paddling down the Newtown Creek.

He may have been the third star on the canoe, but this bit was a standout moment for Guillermo. Jimmy Kimmel Live! fans already know how funny he can be at events like the Super Bowl or Oscars. But Guillermo’s one-liners on the canoe were right up there with Kimmel’s and Murray’s.

The canoe ride turned out to be part PSA, part tourism ad for New York city and the canoe company. Thankfully, Bill Murray and Jimmy Kimmel survived while Guillermo made it through the journey without spilling any of his precious tequila.
