Did Last Week Tonight with John Oliver deliver a new episode or was it time for a week off?
For many fans, the late night week begins and ends with Last Week Tonight with John Oliver. Whether you watch it live on HBO Sunday night to close out your late night week or watch it on Monday to kick off a new week, Last Week Tonight has become a must-watch show.
The past week was not one for much new content in the world of late night. The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Late Night with Seth Meyers, The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, and Conan were all airing repeats.
That meant that only shows like Jimmy Kimmel Live!, The Daily Show with Trevor Noah, and Real Time with Bill Maherwere bringing new shows each night. Jimmy Kimmel did his best to keep track of everything going on with President Donald Trump and delivered with the spotlight on his show.
So what about Last Week Tonight with John Oliver? Typically the Emmy-award winning show shares a similar schedule to its HBO partner Real Time. Since Bill Maher was on with a new show, that would mean John Oliver would do the same.
Unfortunately, that was not the case this time. There is not a new episode of Last Week Tonight for Oct. 20.

Late night television is getting back to it’s regularly scheduled programming this week. Fans can expect to see their favorite hosts return with new episodes and that will include a brand new Last Week Tonight with John Oliver on Sunday, Oct. 27.
