Jimmy Kimmel thinks President Donald Trump and the White House just don’t care anymore after admitting to a quid pro quo with Ukraine.

It has been a very eventful week for President Donald Trump’s White House. And that has meant a very busy week for Jimmy Kimmel Live!. Jimmy Kimmel’s head was spinning as he tried to understand acting Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney admitting to a quid pro quo.

Kimmel closed out his week the same way he started it: covering the bad to worse news for everyone on Team Trump. With The Late Show with Stephen Colbert and Late Night with Seth Meyers on a break this week, Jimmy Kimmel Live! has become the go-to source for Trump jokes.

The show has delivered while in the spotlight. Kimmel has mocked President Trump’s meltdown, counted up the lies from the White House, and ultimately concluded that the week has provided enough evidence to prove Trump is insane.

But the craziness reached a new level yesterday when Mick Mulvaney gave a press briefing that resulted in a quid pro quo admission. The acting Chief of Staff basically confirmed that military aid to Ukraine was contingent on an investigation into Democrats. Kimmel can only guess that this means President Trump no longer cares about the story or is worried about accountability.

Kimmel does his best to make sense of Team Trump’s defense in the Ukraine scandal. He compares Mulvaney’s comments to O.J. Simpson asking for his glove back. He then adds that Mulvaney joins Rudy Giuliani on the list of those going off script and making things much more complicated for the White House.

With all this going on, Rick Perry resigning, and another Giuliani associate arrested, the President himself doesn’t seem to care. Kimmel checks in on Trump to see that the President is still talking about a server from the 2016 election. The gag featuring an impatient Trump looking for his Hooters server is one of Jimmy Kimmel Live!‘s best in recent memory and the highlight off an excellent week of shows.

Kimmel doesn’t close out his monologue without taking a look at some hypocrisy from the White House, a common theme among late night shows. Kimmel takes a few shots at Donald Trump, Jr. DJTJ is one of Kimmel’s favorite punchlines and the comedian does more of the same here.

The theme of President Trump not caring anymore comes up again as Kimmel relays the news that next year’s G7 summit is scheduled to take place at Trump’s golf course in Florida. The White House knew this decision would be criticized and ran the risk of violating emoluments clauses but they did it anyway. Kimmel’s explanation? They don’t care anymore.

Jimmy Kimmel Live! delivered this week when most of the late night audience was tuned in to the show. It helped that it was one of the worse weeks for President Donald Trump but Jimmy Kimmel proved he roast Team Trump just as well as anyone in late night.
