Close out your summer with a little help from James Corden as he looks back the biggest stories from this summer.

We have reached the end of August. And while there are technically a few more weeks of summer left on the calendar, September means summer is over for a lot of us. To mark the occasion, The Late Late Show with James Corden has put together a nice little recap of the season.

Late night shows have become a great way of tracking every event big or small. No where else can you find coverage of the biggest political stories followed by a deep dive on the most trivial of viral sensations.

Shows like The Late Late Show with James Corden have always attempted to reflect the interests of the audience while keeping an eye on current events and pop culture. And with so many shows on in 2019, there is something for everyone when it comes to late night.

The summer of 2019 seemed to have one crazy story followed by another. James Corden looked back at the past three months and delivered a summary in classic Corden fashion.

Give credit where credit is due: Corden and his Late Late Show writing staff did an excellent job of cramming so many references in to a single three-minute clip. No doubt there were some things in there that you forgot happened this summer but they didn’t slip past The Late Late Show.

Corden wraps up the entire summer blockbuster season with references to everything from Avengers: Endgame to Detective Pikachu. He does the same with television, reminding everyone that the end of Game of Thrones and Big Little Lies can also mean the end of an HBO Go subscription.

Other shows probably would have spent the entire summer recap on political stories. Between the Democratic candidates and story after story coming from the Trump White House, it was a wild summer. James Corden may not cover it all like Stephen Colbert or Seth Meyers but the Late Late Show host still knows you can’t review the news without mentioning Trump.
