Rep. Ayanna Pressley on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

If you like to get a little (or a lot) of politics with your late night viewing, then tune in to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Tuesday Aug. 13. His guest will be Representative Ayanna Pressley of Massachusetts.

Representative Pressley has received plenty of attention in her first year as a member of Congress. She is the first black woman elected to Congress from Massachusetts. She serves on the Committee on Financial Services and on the Committee on Oversight and Reform.

Pressley is also part of the so-called “Squad,” a group of four freshmen members of Congress that also includes Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, Ilhan Omar, and Rashida Tlaib. The group made headlines when they were repeatedly called out by President Donald Trump. The back and forth between the members of Congress and the president has been a popular topic of discussion for Stephen Colbert.

This will mark Pressley’s first late night appearance. Colbert will likely give her a chance to address Trump’s comments not only again her and the other women of color serving in Congress but just about anything else Trump has said as of late. Pressley may also comment on the thought process of the Democratic Party moving forward.
