Rihanna and Seth Meyers day drinking gets crazy

The unlikely duo of Rihanna and Seth Meyers spent the day drinking and things got out of hand fast.

It is officially summer. And with the summer, comes nicer weather across the country. And with nicer weather comes more day drinking. So it is only fitting that Late Night with Seth Meyers celebrated the start of summer by drinking in the daylight with Rihanna.

The day drinking bit has been a recurring one on Late Night. He’s spent the day with his brother Josh Meyers, singer Kelly Clarkson, and even his mom. Typically watching other people get drunk isn’t exactly the most sophisticated sense of humor. But that isn’t the point, much like when The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon gets celebrities to play drinking games or any game. The point is to see someone let their guard down and have a good time.

Rihanna isn’t someone who is all that guarded in public, however. Everyone knows that Rihanna is an upbeat and unique person who does or says whatever she wants. All that means that she made for a perfect day drinking partner for Meyers:

Seth Meyers is an excellent comedy writer. He is an excellent late night host. He is not an excellent bartender. While he may have been able to come up with drink names based on Rihanna songs, the actual execution of those drinks left something to desire. But credit to Rihanna for being a good sport, and good drinker, by trying them out anyway.

In addition to being a good drinker, Rihanna shows offer her skills when it comes to giving advice. She didn’t hold back in giving Meyers advice for a romantic night with his wife and she also didn’t just give out a nickname without merit. If Meyers wants to be called something other than “Seth” he will have to go on more than just one drinking adventure with Rihanna.

From there, things only got a little messier. Between Meyers’s pickup lines, his beauty makeover, and his attempts at Rihanna karaoke, it was clear that the tequila at the start of the day were catching up with the comedian. In contrast, it seemed like a quiet day in Rihanna’s world.

This clip was a nice change of pace for Late Night with Seth Meyers. After spending weeks taking a closer look at everything in the White House, Seth Meyers was probably eager to get out and have a few drinks as soon as possible. And he picked the right drinking buddy in Rihanna to do it.
