The best of Late Night with Seth Meyers 2018

A wild year of headlines helped Seth Meyers have one of his best years since taking over Late Night.

We’ve come to that time of year. The holidays are winding down and everyone is making their New Year resolutions. It’s also the time of year when we all reflect back on the past 12 months. And few people in late night had a year like Seth Meyers did at Late Night.

It was 2014 when Meyers took over the show from Jimmy Fallon once Fallon was given the keys to The Tonight Show. In that time, Meyers has found his footing and shaped the show in his own image thanks to help from band leader Fred Armisen and writer/performers like Amber Ruffin and Jenny Hagel.

2018 was a big leap forward for Late Night with Seth Meyers due largely in part to the headlines created by President Donald Trump’s White House. Meyers joined fellow late night host Stephen Colbert in dedicating large segements of the show to breaking down and poking fun at everything related to Trump.

And while Meyers will still use a similar approach he had anchoring Weekend Update for Saturday Night Live, like using obsure news stories for setups, it has been his willingness to lean into politics so heavily that has helped deliver results. Late Night may not be competing with ratings juggernauts The Tonight Show or The Late Show but it is consistently neck-and-neck with Jimmy Kimmel Live and ahead of The Late Late Show and Conan.

So with that all being said, let’s get to the good stuff. Below you can see the top clips and highlights from Late Night with Seth Meyers during the roller coaster year of 2018. From “A Closer Look” to interviews with some of the biggest stars, you’re sure to see one of your favorite moments!
