Andy Richter will become the latest from Team Coco to launch his own podcast later this summer.

Team Coco is continuing to take over the podcast world. In addition to Conan O’Brien’s successful podcast and one taking a behind-the-scenes look at Conan, Andy Richter is now getting in the game.

The launch of “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” was one of the most exciting aspects of Team Coco’s major announcement way back in October of 2018. While the biggest news may have been the format change to Conan, the podcast has become a massive success and held a steady position among the top comedy podcasts.

That podcast was followed by “Inside Conan,” a show hosted by writers Mike Sweeney and Jessie Gaskell that gives fans a glimpse of life at the Team Coco offices. It has given a spotlight to those people who don’t appear on camera while also showcasing some who do like producer Jordan Schlansky and co-host/sidekick Andy Richter.

Now it is Andy Richter’s turn to enter the podcast world as a host. Team Coco announced “Three Questions with Andy Richter.” We’ll let Richter himself tell you what to expect from his new show:

Anyone who has seen an interview with Andy Richter or follows him on Twitter knows that he is a thoughtful individual who will be a natural running his own interview-based podcast. While “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend” often gets pretty serious, it sounds like “Three Questions with Andy Richter” will take that a step further. Obviously a comedian and improviser like Richter won’t shy away from one-liners, jokes, and bits but don’t expect that to dominate the podcasts.

Sticking to the format of asking the same three questions each episode will also help the show standout from less structured podcasts. Asking “where do you come from, where are you going, and what have you learned?” leaves a lot of room for interpretation which is by design. Guests will likely be free to answer them however they choose. Having someone to interview that isn’t plugging a project will be a welcomed change for Richter and something he has spoken about in the past:

Richter’s show is another example of how Team Coco has revitalized the entire operation. Conan remains the most unique late night option as other shows become increasingly political and formulaic. But rather than just hang their hats on that fact, the team has continued to create content that audiences in 2019 want to consume. Podcasts, travel specials, and comedy tours show that even after 25 years, Conan O’Brien wants to push things forward.
