A new podcast will give fans insight on what it’s like behind the scenes at Team Coco and what it’s like to work for Conan O’Brien.

Just when you thought there couldn’t possibly be any more content coming from Conan O’Brien and Team Coco, another announcement hits. The longest running late night host is staying ahead of the game with the podcast Inside Conan: An Important Hollywood Podcast.

O’Brien is already hosting the wildly popular Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend podcast. With guests like Will Ferrell, Kristen Bell, and Stephen Colbert, the podcast already featured celebrities that other podcasts would hope to get over years and not the mere weeks it seemed for O’Brien to interview such talent.

Inside Conan will be a much different podcast. First, it won’t be hosted by O’Brien. Instead it will feature two of his writers: Mike Sweeney and Jessie Gaskell. The podcast will not only talk about the highlights from Conan but it will also discuss what it’s like to work in the offices of Team Coco. Expect to hear a bit more about what it’s like in an office that features characters like Andy Richter and Jordan Schlansky.  Check out a preview of the podcast below:

Jessie Gaskell has been

a writer and performer

on

Conan

since 2014. Other credits include a writer on the television series

Dorm Life

and the head writer of the show

The Dish.

Mike Sweeney started off as a writer for Bill Maher’s show

Politically Incorrect.

He has been with O’Brien since 2015, writing for

Late Night with Conan O’Brien, The Tonight Show with Conan O’Brien

and now is the head writer of

Conan.

So if you find O’Brien and Conan funny, then a lot of the credit goes to Gaskell and Sweeney. Just listening to the preview of the podcast shows enough of their sense of humor to ensure that Inside Conan will be a must-listen for fans of not only O’Brien but all of late night.

The announcement of Inside Conan backs up what Team Coco has been telling us since the announcement of a new format for the Conan show. Basically, we’re getting a lot more from Conan O’Brien. The success of his podcast proved there was a market for his brand well beyond late night television. Comedy tours, online archives, and podcasts seem to be just the beginning of O’Brien’s new era in late night. And we are absolutely here for it.

We’ve already been given a small taste of what it is like behind the scenes at Conan. O’Brien has touched on it from time to time on his podcast interviews with Will Ferrell and Stephen Colbert. Sweeney and Gaskell’s podcast will expand on those discussions and also provide a little more context to the office dynamic fans have seen in a few other clips.

Inside Conan launches on March 1. Until then you can continue to listen to Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend every Monday. And you can keep watching Conan weeknights on TBS. Like we said, that is a lot of Conan and we are absolutely not complaining about it.
