Dark Phoenix heats up Jimmy Kimmel Live tonight
By Matt Moore
Sophie Turner, Jennifer Lawrence and the rest of the Dark Phoenix cast will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight.
There is a clear late night home for superheroes: Jimmy Kimmel LIve!. The show has hosted several special episodes and held cast interviews for some of the biggest superhero movies around. Dark Phoenix gets added to that list Tuesday night.
Earlier this year, Avengers: Endgame took over Jimmy Kimmel’s show for an entire week. With a cast that big and featuring some of the biggest names in entertainment, it certainly made sense. And just recently Spider-Man: Far From Home cast members all came together to sit down with Kimmel.
It helps that those two films are Disney properties just like ABC, the home of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. But it also helps that Kimmel himself is huge comic book and superhero fan. So more than any other late night host, Kimmel is comfortable talking about everything from mutants to alien invasions.
That fandom will come in handy tonight when he welcomes the cast of Dark Phonenix. The movie will bring an end to the X-Men film franchise as we know it when it releases on June 7. The characters have been acquired by Disney’s Marvel Studios, making it unlikely that the actors will be reprising their roles again.
So who exactly will be on Jimmy Kimmel Live! tonight? Last Night On already picked out the show as one to watch this week and for good reason. Here is who fans will see sit down with Kimmel:
- Sophie Turner
- James McAvoy
- Jessica Chastain
- Jennifer Lawrence
- Michael Fassbender
- Nicholas Hoult
- Tye Sheridan
It is an an impressive lineup for a week or two of late night shows never mind one night. Kimmel benefits from the stacked Dark Phoenix cast featuring some of the most talented actors and actresses around.
Fans can expect Jessica Chastain to comment on what it was like to play a villain. She’ll do her best to avoid spoilers. Kimmel will probably ask how she was received by the rest of the cast who already had experience in a handful of X-Men films.
Sophie Turner will of course be the focus as the main character, the first time Turner will be a film’s lead. There will be no escaping a Game of Thrones question or two from Kimmel, either.
Jennifer Lawrence has been one of the best late guests for a long time now. Dark Phoenix marks the fourth time she has played the character Mystique. The costume and makeup process always gets brought up while Lawrence is promoting an X-Men movie. But hopefully Kimmel can find something a little more entertaining and original to discuss.
Dark Phoenix hits theaters on June 7. Fans can also see Sophie Turner on Wednesday night’s episode of Conan. What are hoping to see on tonight’s Jimmy Kimmel Live! special episode? Let us know in the comments. Check back with us for all the highlights!
