With more late night shows returning from break this week, there are some big name guests fans will be excited to see.

Memorial Day marked the unofficial start to summer. With that, it wasn’t all that surprising to see most late night shows take last week off. But Monday starts a new week and that means new episodes from some fan-favorite shows.

NBC’s late night shows The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon and Late Night with Seth Meyers will still run repeats this week. The same goes for The Late Late Show with James Corden. But we will get new content from the  newly crowned king of late night The Late Show with Stephen Colbert as well as Conan and Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

It is shaping up to be a big week in late night for comedians. Some of the funniest people around will be guests this week. It will also be a busy week for Sophie Turner. Just weeks off the finale of Game of Thrones, the actress has been out promoting her film Dark Phoenix. She was recently a guest on The Graham Norton Show and now comes to the U.S. late night circuit.

Here are Last Night On’s picks for the five late night guests should be most excited to see this week. Be sure to let us know who you’re most looking forward to hearing from by leaving a comment.

Thomas Middleditch on Conan

Thomas Middleditch has been a popular guest on Conan for years now. He returns to the show on Monday June 3.

Known for his role on Silicon Valley, Middleditch has also been doing improve shows with Parks and Rec actor Ben Schwartz. The two were even guests of Conan O’Brien’s podcast earlier this year. O’Brien couldn’t stop praising the two for their talents and combined sense of humor, which amounts to high praise coming from O’Brien.

Middleditch is out promoting his latest movie Godzilla: King of the Monsters. He is also set to appear in the movie Zombieland: Doubletap coming out later this year.

The cast of Dark Phoenix on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

Fans of Jimmy Kimmel Live! can forgive the show for taking Monday night off when they see the lineup for Tuesday June 4. The cast of Dark Phoenix will be on the show.

The full list of guest is as follows: Sophie Turner, James McAvoy, Jennifer Lawrence, Michael Fassbender, Jessica Chastain, Nicholas Hoult, and Tye Sheridan. Most late night shows would be thrilled to have those names spread over a couple weeks. Jimmy Kimmel will welcome them all on one night.

As the star of the film Turner will be front and center. As we mentioned, she just had her HBO series Game of Thrones come to an end so that will surely be brought up by Kimmel. She is well aware that the comedian is a big fan of the show. Turner will also be on Conan by herself on Wednesday night for any fans that can’t get enough of the Jean Grey/Sansa Stark actress.

Jennifer Lawrence is one of the best guests in all of late night. No matter what show she visits, she delivers some story or comment that gets everyone’s attention. Expect nothing different on Jimmy Kimmel Live!.

And if you’ve been following along with the X-Men film franchise then you know that James McAvoy and Michael Fassbender have fantastic chemistry on and off screen. With the X-Men films as we know it coming to an end, this could be the last time we see these two together on late night.

Zoe Kravitz on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Big Little Lies fans will want to tune in to The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday June 5. One of the stars of the HBO series, Zoe Kravitz, will be a guest.

Kravitz is coming off a very busy 2018 in which she appeared in three films: KinFantastic Beasts: The Crimes of Grindelwald, and Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse. Now she turns her attention to television and the season two premiere of Big Little Lies on June 9.

The first season was a massive success that resulted in Golden Globe and Emmy wins for the series as well as for actresses Nicole Kidman and Laura Dern.

Kravitz is back as Bonnie Carlson who played a major role in how season one ended. Expect her to have an even bigger part in the follow-up season that also welcomes Meryl Streep to the already talented cast.

Mindy Kaling on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

We are staying with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert for our fourth pick this week. On Thursday June 6, Stephen Colbert welcomes Mindy Kaling to the show.

Kaling will be out promoting her film Late Night which co-stars Emma Thompson. Any movie set in the world of late night television is going to get the attention of Last Night On. The movie made headlines when it was acquired by Amazon and fans should definitely give the film a chance at the theaters.

The movie was written by Kaling and draws on her experiences as a woman in the world of comedy writers. Her time on The Office and as an intern for Late Night with Conan O’Brien certainly helped her come up with the idea and pen the script.

Fans know that Kaling is a fantastic late night guest. She has been on The Late Show a few times before and there is a clear mutual admiration between her and Colbert. If you’re a fan of Kaling or want to know more about Late Night, then tune in on Thursday.

Dana Carvey on Conan

A comedy legend visits a late night legend on Thursday June 6. Dana Carvey will be a guest of Conan O’Brien on Conan.

Carvey is out promoting the release of his animated film The Secret Life of Pets 2. The film has been received well by critics and is expected to be more than satisfying for fans of the original. Carvey’s co-stars include Patton Oswalt, Kevin Hart, and Tiffany Haddish.

Carvey and O’Brien have a long history together when it comes to comedy. They were both at Saturday Night Live in the late 1980s/early 1990s. O’Brien was a writer and Carvey was a performer. Since then, Carvey has been a frequent guest on Late Night with Conan O’Brien and now Conan. The two also sat down for an episode of the podcast “Conan O’Brien Needs a Friend.”

The familiarity and friendship between the two makes for good television. O’Brien enjoys setting Carvey up to show off his voices and impressions. Fans should be in store for more of that on Thursday night.
