Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, March 16?

How does Saturday Night Live plan to follow a strong episode hosted by Idris Elba?
Show business if full of cliches. One of them warns all about the risks of “a tough act to follow.” But that’s just where Saturday Night Live has put itself following last week’s tremendous episode hosted by Idris Elba.
Elba proved that he absolutely had the comedic timing to thrive on Saturday Night Live. Whether he was playing a confused actor, magician, or crass soccer star, Elba was committed to every character and every sketch.
Things were shaping up for the previous week, hosted by John Mulaney, to be the season’s best episode. And while the cold open on Michael Cohen’s testimony was a hit, the episode was ultimately outshined by Elba’s turn as host.
So of course, fans are eager to tune into Saturday Night Live tonight to see what else the writers and cast can come up. Plenty more headlines have come from Washington to inspire a cold open. There are still a handful of episodes left in season 44 so the cast can’t be out of ideas yet.
But as we have seen time and time again, the schedule is far too unpredictable. Once again, there will be no new episode of Saturday Night Live this week.
The show looks to be on some version of a spring break. Nothing new will be popping up until March 30.

Another weekend off for Saturday Night Live could be an excuse to stay out a little longer on Saturday night and enjoy the nicer weather. When SNL does return in a couple weeks, Last Night On will continue to have everything covered with episode previews and recaps.
