The weather is finally warming up across most of the country. That means that spring is on the way and for many people, the season starts with St. Patrick’s Day. The holiday dedicated to celebrating the Irish and drinking certainly has provided a lot of material for Saturday Night Live.

Saturday Night Live has always made a point to have holiday theme episodes or sketches. We’ve already looked back at Halloween, Christmas, and Valentine’s Day. Now that we are into March, it’s time to look at the best of St. Patrick’s Day.

It’s not hard to see why these sketches are some of the most popular holiday ones from SNLWith some 35 million Americans claiming Irish heritage, there is a huge number of SNL fans who can appreciate being the butt of a joke. Then there is the fact that any day involving heavy drinking typically lends itself to comedy.

So before you take your favorite green outfit out of the closet or start to dye your beer green, enjoy these classic SNL sketches. Be sure to let us know if we missed any and tell us which one is your favorite sketch. Cheers!
