Late night: Five guests to get excited for this week – Feb. 18, 2019

50 Cent and Senator Elizabeth Warren on The Late Late Show with James Corden
The Late Late Show with James Corden is unlike any other late night show in the U.S. for the way it features multiple guests on the couch at once. No better example exists than on Tuesday, Feb. 19 when 50 Cent and Senator Elizabeth Warren are paired together.
Warren is fresh off her official announcement that she is a Democratic candidate for president in 2020. Plenty of people have wanted the Massachusetts senator to enter the race and after forming an exploratory committee, she has finally confirmed her candidacy. As an outspoken critic of President Trump, Warren could be a strong contender in 2020.
50 Cent certainly has a lot going on as well. The rapper/actor has found himself caught up in the Gucci blackface controversy. His feud with boxer Floyd Mayweather picked up again this week. He is the producer of two television pilots picked up by ABC. And he now has alleged that a New York City police officer threatened to shoot him.
It will be up to James Corden to decide how to find common ground between Warren and 50 Cent in an entertaining way. Corden doesn’t dive too deep into politics compared to some other late night hosts but Warren has been known to get very passionate when given the chance to discuss her positions.
The format of The Late Late Show is designed for these type of interactions. The only thing better than having two guests who are close or good friends is having two guests from very different worlds. That certainly seems like the case when it comes to Elizabeth Warren and 50 Cent. It should be a very interesting discussion on Corden’s couch come Tuesday night.
