John Oliver on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert

Stephen Colbert starts his week by welcoming a fellow Daily Show correspondent. John Oliver will be on The Late Show on Monday, Feb. 11.

Oliver has become one of the best returning guests on Colbert’s Late Show. Part of that is due to Oliver’s natural personality and part of it is due to a shared sense of humor between he and Colbert. There’s a reason the two are at the top of anyone’s list when it comes to the best comedians in Daily Show history.

And while Oliver followed Colbert on The Daily Show, it has been Oliver who has set the late night example for Colbert. Last Week Tonight has set the standard for how to approach complex political stories with a sense of humor. It has certainly influenced “A Closer Look” on Late Night with Seth Meyers and shown Colbert that the content has audience, especially online.

If you’re a fan of John Oliver and Stephen Colbert’s approach to the headlines, then you’ll want to watch on Monday night. And if you are a huge fan of Oliver, then you’ll surely be happy to know he’s returning to HBO soon. New episodes of Last Week Tonight with John Oliver are just around the corner. An interview with Colbert makes for a very nice warm up spot.
