Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, Feb. 9?
By Matt Moore
Should Saturday Night Live fans plan on an all-new episode tonight or make different plans?
Valentine’s Day is just days away but Saturday Night Live hasn’t always been in a loving mood recently. Sometimes the show is distant, refusing to come around. Other times it is the perfect match for an unforgettable weekend. Playing hard to get seems to be the strategy SNL is using in season 44.
Fans were put through a long, lonely winter after the Christmas episode with host Matt Damon. Saturday Night Live left audiences wanting more after perhaps its best show of the season. Yet it was a full month before everyone at Studio 8H in New York City came back in to our lives.
And when Saturday Night Live did return, it showed us just what we had been missing. A fantastic episode hosted by The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star Rachel Brosnahan had fans welcoming the show back with open arms. Things stayed hot the next week when Glass actor James McAvoy delivered another great show.
But just when things we thought things were going well, Saturday Night Live stood us up last weekend. There was no new episode and fans were left questioning whether or not they could ever really trust SNL again this season.
So what should we fans do tonight? Should those backup plans be put into action or will Saturday Night Live come around tonight and keep us company?
The on-again/off-again pattern is back on tonight. Yes, there will be a new episode of Saturday Night Live. You can read Last Night On’s preview of the episode which will feature host and musical guest Halsey.
Halsey will bring her chart-topping talent to the show tonight and pull double duty. As you can read in our preview, she’ll be joining a unique group of performers in the show’s history.
Saturday Night Live airs tonight Feb. 9 on NBC at 11:30 PM ET. There are plenty of stories in the news this week that the show can use for material. From President Trump’s State of the Union, to the Super Bowl, to more Democrats joining the race in 2020, it should be a fun episode. Check back with Last Night On for a recap of all the night’s best moments.
