Is Saturday Night Live new tonight, Jan. 12?
By Matt Moore
Is tonight the night that Saturday Night Live finally returns from the holiday break with a new episode?
As we move towards the end of the second week in 2019, you have probably noticed some of your favorite shows have returned from a break. Late night shows finally returned this past week and picked up right where they left off. One show that a lot of fans have been looking for is Saturday Night Live.
It doesn’t matter the season of the show or the time of year. No matter what, people always look for Saturday Night Live to be on NBC during it’s regularly scheduled time slot. This is true for viewers who tune in religiously each week or the casual viewer curious to see how SNL covers the latest headline. After all, there is a reason why fans of the show continue to influence pop culture.
That search for a new episode of Saturday Night Live has been a long one recently. We last saw the cast and crew of Studio 8H in mid-December with the Christmas episode hosted by Matt Damon. Since then things have been quiet as the show took time off to celebrate the holidays and prepare for the second half of season 44 in 2019.
So now is a good time for the show to return, right? Well…sorry, folks. Saturday Night Live will not be airing a new episode tonight, Jan. 12. The show has one more weekend off before making its return on Jan. 18.
The Jan. 12 episode of Saturday Night Live will be hosted by Rachel Brosnahan and feature musical guest Greta van Fleet. Brosnahan, the star of the television series Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, will be making her first appearance as host. She was only just recently parodied by Cecily Strong in a bit so it’s clear she’s been on the show’s radar for a while. Check back in with Last Night On for a preview of the episode as well as a recap of all the highlights.
