One of the best friendships in comedy was saved thanks to some honest discussion on Late Night with Seth Meyers.

It has long been said that honesty is the best policy. This can certainly be true when you want to save a friendship. And that policy was put into action last night on Late Night with Seth Meyers when Andy Samberg and Seth Meyers came clean about what they’ve done to each other.

The Samberg-Meyers friendship dates back to 2005 when Samberg joined Saturday Night Live where Meyers was already an established performer and a year away from becoming head writer. Meyers helped champion Samberg’s material both on Weekend Update and through the “Digital Shorts.”

Outside of Saturday Night Live, Meyers has called on Samberg to appear on stage with him  while hosting various events. Samberg has also become one of the funniest and most frequent guests of Late Night with Seth Meyers. Meyers has returned the favor by even serving as a groomsman in Samberg’s wedding.

All this background is to make the point that there is a solid friendship between two of the funniest people on television right now. They’ve reunited at NBC now that Samberg’s show Brooklyn Nine-Nine was saved by the network. So that reunion was a nice way for the two to sit down face-to-face for the Late Night segment “Clear the Air.”

Typical of this bit, things are always a lot worse for Seth Meyers. Thankfully 15 years of friendship is enough to overcome Samberg impersonating Meyers at restaurants, not watching Late Night, and selling nude drawings of him online. Truly an admirable friendship between these two.

Now that the two have cleared the air, it only seems right that we take a look at a of their best work onscreen together. Enjoy these bit from Samberg on Meyers’ Weekend Update.

Here’s hoping now that Andy Samberg is back at 30 Rock, he and Seth Meyers can have more time to work on their friendship. If it’s anything like the past 15 years, then it will provide some pretty great interactions for us fans to enjoy. Keep checking back with Last Night On for more!
