Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel both had an issue with each other and the confrontation unfolded on Jimmy Kimmel Live!

The holidays are always a nice time to bring friends and family together. There does come a certain time when it’s just a little less stressful and a little more enjoyable to be around just friends. Jennifer Aniston and Jimmy Kimmel certainly subscribed to this concept but they may be regretting it now.

Aniston has made countless appearances on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and made no secret about her friendship with Kimmel and his wife Molly McNearney. This has led to pranks, Aniston’s review of Kimmel hosting the Oscars, and just an overall positive chemistry between the two.

They’ve shared a few stories about hanging out outside of Jimmy Kimmel Live!. A friendship between the host and guest in late night can go two ways. It can be more entertaining and go away from the typical, sometimes predictable banter. Or it can be a little disconnecting for the audience who feel left out on the joke. For Kimmel and Aniston, it has usually been the former of the two.

The friendship may be partly to blame for the “confrontation” that happened on last night’s show. Maybe Kimmel is just a little too comfortable around Aniston. He didn’t hide his feelings about the actress’ “Friendsgiving” celebration. But Aniston was ready with a complaint of her own:

Perhaps any other late night host that isn’t friends with Jennifer Aniston would try to work in a Friends reference when Aniston discusses a “Friendsgiving.” So in this case, Kimmel’s friendship saves us from the easy joke and Aniston being forced to laugh along. Besides, Kimmel already got the most out of Friends when he held a mock reunion episode a few years back.

After listening to both sides, it’s hard to have sympathy for Kimmel on either issue. First, turkey isn’t that terrible that it should only be enjoyed once. Second, someone who takes on all the cooking responsibilities on Thanksgiving should appreciate a day when they can relax and actually enjoy the food rather than worrying about it all.

The second issue is hilarious for anyone not involved. Again, McNearney and Aniston’s friendship certainly helps smooth things over when a child turns a backyard into her personal bathroom. And whoever Mike the Bartender is deserves a raise for being so willing to go the extra mile.

Jimmy Kimmel probably learned his lesson about confronting a friend. If you’re going to air your grievances to someone, make sure they don’t have any material for a comeback. Here Kimmel really stepped in it as Aniston was ready to fire back. Hopefully the friendship can survive.
