Jason Momoa finally landed the job of his dreams

Yes, he’s Aquaman and has been on Game of Thrones, but Jason Momoa finally has the one gig he’s wanted since he was a kid.

A lot of us grow up wanting to be superheroes. You watch the cartoons and play with the action figures. Then you’re running around in a homemade costume imagining yourself saving the day. Few people get to play out that fantasy like Jason Momoa will in Aquaman. But that wasn’t what he dreamed of doing.

Momoa has been around for a long time. He had roles on the reboot of Baywatch and Stargate Atlantis. His career got a bump when he was cast as Khal Drogo on Game of Thrones. That led to landing the role of Aquaman for Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, Justice League, and now his solo film Aquaman.

Aquaman is trending towards a strong opening weekend when it hits theaters on Dec. 21. Part of that has been the fun-loving Momoa leading the promotional charge. That could be partly why Momoa will have his dream come true when he hosts Saturday Night Live on Dec. 8:

Yes, almost every host says it is a dream come true to host Saturday Night Live. But they typically say that during the week leading up to the show. Jason Momoa has been preparing for this opportunity for over a year. Check out this video from the Justice League promotional tour:

Dreams really do come true, it seems. Whether or not Ben Affleck helped out his superhero friend in landing the hosting gig is hard to say. At the time, Affleck was dating Saturday Night Live producer Lindsay Shookus. That relationship has since ended but perhaps Batman did enough to get Aquaman the job. Affleck is certainly no stranger to hosting Saturday Night Live himself.
