Watch Trevor Noah and the Daily Show take Miami
By Matt Moore
The Daily Show on the road in Miami so Trevor Noah and his team of correspondents are making the most of their visit.
It’s not unusual for late night shows to take the act on the road and visit different cities. Jimmy Kimmel Live! just finished its annual visit to Brooklyn. Conan has gone to Chicago. But Trevor Noah’s Daily Show isn’t known to stray from New York City too often.
The show did go to Chicago last year for a week of shows. But for 2018, the Comedy Central program chose Miami as its latest “Undesked” destination. Florida will be a hotspot during the midterm elections so it makes sense that Noah and company have set up shop in the Sunshine State.
Florida has long been a punchline in comedy for just the absurd news that tends to come from the state. However, Miami is a bit of a different vibe. Case in point is the Miami featured in the Bad Boys film. That looks like what the Daily Show had in mind when it took over the Miami streets:
From there, we see a few more classic Florida cliches. Overtly racist seniors in retirement homes, pop culture references to Scarface and the Gianni Versace assassination. And to top it all off we have Trevor Noah delivering a line that probably is from CSI: Miami.
It all comes together to make a fantastic promo for the Daily Show in Miami. The show’s election coverage has always been must-watch dating back to the Jon Stewart days. Noah has had his ye on the midterms for months now. Being on the ground in Florida will only make the content that much better.
The Daily Show will be in Miami through Nov 1. After that they will return to New York City and break down everything from the midterm elections. Check back in to Last Night On for all the highlights from Trevor Noah and his team.
