Late Night host Seth Meyers took a closer look at the feud between Donald Trump and former lawyer Michael Cohen, and things between them are heating up.

It’s staring to get a little ugly with Donald Trump and Michael Cohen!

For anyone unaware, let’s do a quick recap of who Cohen is. Famously, Cohen served as a personal attorney for Trump, and was proven to provide adult film actress Stormy Daniels a huge lump sum payment. Allegedly, this payoff was “hush money” to keep Daniels from talking about the affair she claims to have had with Trump.

Since this scandal rocked the headlines, Cohen has since stepped down as Trump’s lawyer as investigators look into the case. As it turns out, the FBI has located a recording Cohen secretly made of Trump talking about the payments (despite previously denying all knowledge of it). So on last night’s Late Night, host Seth Meyers found it amusing that considering Trump’s ongoing fear of being secretly recorded (by Obama, the FBI, or whoever), the person who actually did it was his own lawyer.

“Trump’s obsession with being secretly taped is not new. It’s something he’s been fixated on throughout his presidency,” Meyers explains. He goes, on, “It’s almost like he got secretly taped at some point, and waiting for that tape to come out is slowly driving him insane. And he tries not to think about that tape, but for whatever reason every time he pees he can’t get it out of his mind.”

Meyers is one of Trump’s harshest critics, so it’s not surprising he’d dive so deep into this story. What will happen next with Cohen and Trump? We’ll see soon enough. In the meantime, watch Late Night with Seth Meyers weeknights at 12:37 a.m. on NBC.
