When Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson appeared on last night’s Late Show, he told host Stephen Colbert he’s open to running for president in the future.

It wouldn’t be any crazier than what we’re already going through now…

In recent years, and for obvious reasons, the American public has been spending more time discussing the idea of celebrity entertainers becoming the president of the United States. Given that the former host of The Celebrity Apprentice is now the leader of the nation, it’s easy to see why people like Oprah Winfrey are having their names being tossed around as well.

One such person to enter this conversation as well is Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson. Last night on The Late Show, Johnson came on as a guest to speak to Stephen Colbert for the very first time. Although there to promote his film and have a good time drinking tequila and singing with Colbert, Johnson also dropped an interesting tidbit. He is totally open to running for president sometime in the future!

When asked about the fan campaign for The Rock to become president, Johnson says he takes it very seriously. Even if he didn’t at first, the former wrestler realized there may be something there based on the tremendous fan support behind the idea. “So when that started picking up, of course when I’m asked, yes, I have incredible respect for our people and our country, so I would consider it,” Johnson clarifies.

“But at the same time, Stephen, I mean look, I’m not delusional at all,” Johnson specifies. He goes on to add that he realizes he needs actual political experience if he wants to even consider the option. “So if [the election] were to happen in a 2024, 2028, I would have to go to work and get some experience, you know, and understand policy,” he adds.
