Stephen Colbert took to last night’s Late Show to laugh about an anecdote Bill Gates told about his awkward meeting with President Donald Trump.

Bill Gates is apparently not impressed with the president…

Last night on The Late Show, host Stephen Colbert told viewers about a story Gates told about meeting Donald Trump. A video clip shows Gates telling a story about Trump coming up to him to essentially confront him. “Trump hears that you don’t like what Trump is doing,” Trump said to Gates. “Wow… but you’re Trump!” Gates admits thinking to himself. “Colbert is shocked,” Colbert jokes, noting that it’s surprising Gates doesn’t know Trump talks about himself in the third person.

Gates recalls another story about meeting Trump in Trump Tower, talking to him about science and innovation. Trump responded by asking if there was a difference between HIV and HPV… kind of a strange question and reply. “I can’t help but notice he’s talking to the biggest nerd in the world about sexually transmitted disease,” Colbert notes. “What does Trump talk to the porn stars about?”

But, somehow, things get even stranger from there. Gates tells another story about how Trump had met his daughter Jennifer at a horse show. As the story goes, Trump left and returned 20 minutes later in a helicopter to the same place, apparently trying to make a grand impression on her. Gates adds that it was “scary” how much Trump knew about his daughter’s looks, but Colbert doesn’t see why that’s weird. “Hey Bill, your daughter is hot.. not Ivanka hot, but, you know,” Colbert mimes Trump as saying.

It’s too bad no cameras were rolling when this awkward meeting occurred. It’s fun to imagine this scenario, and not a stretch at all. More more new episodes of The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, tune in weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on CBS.
