Jimmy Kimmel asks fans to name ANY book, and no one can
By Jeremy Dick
Jimmy Kimmel took to the streets to ask passers-by to name a book, ANY book, and it seems nobody reads anymore as no one can name a single book title.
Sure, this is funny, but also a little sad…
Last night on Jimmy Kimmel Live, host Jimmy Kimmel spoke about an interesting new statistic revealed about reading. Almost one in four Americans hasn’t read a book in the past year. But for Kimmel, that actually seems high. To prove that point, the show went to the streets to ask pedestrians to name a book title… ANY book title.
You know where this is going. None of the people asked are able to name a book title. Most of the people ask seem quite startled by the question. Some struggle while trying to think of a title. Others are more honest, admitting they haven’t read a book in years. Several of them claim that Dr. Seuss was the last author whose work they’ve read, yet nobody even names one of his book titles!
The closest people seem to get are naming Disney movies. One person says The Lion King, and he should at least be commended for the effort. Another says The Jungle Book, and although there is a book by that name, the man admits he’s thinking of the film, and has no idea whether that’s a book too or not.

It’s always fun to take a break from the political humor to have a little bit of fun. Of course, seeing just how many people have chosen to forego reading is still a bit sad to see. In any case, you can always catch more of Jimmy Kimmel Live when it airs weeknights at 11:35 p.m. EST on ABC.
