Ariana Grande returned to Jimmy Fallon’s Tonight Show to perform her new single “No Tears Left to Cry” using Nintendo Labo cardboard instruments.

For some, this is more entertaining than the studio version…

On The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, pop star Ariana Grande dropped by for another visit. To promote her music, Grande performed her single “No Tears Left to Cry” with Fallon and The Roots. But this version of the song is very different, in that the instruments used are the cardboard instruments from the Nintendo Labo game for the Nintendo Switch.

For those who don’t know, the Nintendo Labo game comes with cardboard pieces players can use to make “instruments” with. They obviously produce their own unique sound, and it’s surreal hearing them be used to recreate a popular song. Even more so when the actual performer steps into help recreate the Nintendo Labo version herself!

This of course is reminiscent of many of Fallon’s other musical songs. More than once, he has used classroom instruments with entertainers for new renditions of their popular songs. This is an interesting spin on that with this new Labo game that many people are curious about, and the end result is very entertaining.
