Jimmy Kimmel mocks Donald Trump for ‘witch hunt’ tweets
By Jeremy Dick
Donald Trump was quick to jump on Twitter to call the raid of his lawyer Michael Cohen a “witch hunt,” and Jimmy Kimmel is noticing a humorous trend.
Why do the words “witch hunt” seem oh so familiar?
If you haven’t heard the news about Michael Cohen, let me fill you in. Cohen serves as the attorney for Donald Trump, and recently, he had his office and hotel room raided by the FBI. It came out that the feds are looking for evidence pertaining to the payout Cohen made to adult film actress Stormy Daniels to allegedly keep her quiet about an affair with Trump.
Soon after news of the raid went public, Trump hopped on Twitter is he is wont to do. In all capital letters and with multiple explanation points, Trump declares that this situation is a “WITCH HUNT.” But as Jimmy Kimmel revealed on last night’s Jimmy Kimmel Live, it’s far from the first time Trump has said such a thing, as previous tweets show it’s one of the president’s go-to defenses.
Funny enough, that’s far from the only Twitter trend we see from Mr. Trump. As Kimmel explains, Trump has a tendency to declare everything as being “dead.” The latest example comes from yesterday when Trump tweeted that attorney-client privilege is dead. And as Kimmel digs deeper into the tweet history, he pulls out tweet after tweet of more of the same. DACA is dead, steel is dead, the “Russia Collusion Hoax” is dead… there’s a lot of entertainment to be found on the president’s Twitter feed!
