On last night’s Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon surprised Black Panther fans by having its star Chadwick Boseman appear and meet them while they’re thanking him.

It would be a tremendous understatement to say that the new Black Panther movie is a big success. The superhero film is earning hundreds of millions of dollars at a rapid pace. Critically, it’s doing just as well, and the consensus is that this is one of the best superhero movies to come out in the modern era.

On The Tonight Show, Jimmy Fallon developed a segment based on Black Panther to have some fun with the fans. The idea was that these fans would be led into a room with a Black Panther poster, and they’d be asked to tell star Chadwick Boseman (by looking at his face on the poster) what the movie means to them. After praising Boseman, the actor himself would pop out and surprise them, meeting them face to face with no warning.

I always get enjoyment out of these kinds of fun pranks. Nobody’s expecting to see Boseman actually come out, and it’s a very pleasant surprise for each one of them. It’s a hilarious bit but it’s also touching, as it’s really cool to see Boseman and Fallon giving all of these fans the opportunity.
